Senator WILSON (South Australia) . - The duties proposed by the Government on sub-item a are exorbitant, and I intend to test the feeling of the' Committee by moving for a reduction in the British preferential rate, because the British chain is necessary in many instances. If the other chains, will not stand Lloyd's test, it is fair to assume that the chains of British manufacture are superior for many purposes. I move -

That the House of Representatives be requested to make the duty, sub-item (a), British, 20 per cent.
