Senator RUSSELL (Victoria) (VicePresident of the Executive Council) . - The question of wire-drawing is not at present before the Committee, but for the information of Senator Gardiner I may say that, so far as I know, very little money has been invested for the purpose of establishing a . factory solely for this purpose. There is, however, a factory dealing with other metals, such as zinc, copper, and bronze, to which extensions are being made for the purpose of undertaking aluminium work, and, consequently, it .will not be long before it is in a position to handle this commodity. T understand the capital invested in the industry is ?60,000.
