Senator RUSSELL - The answers are - .

1.   Twelve months, the term to be extended for four years subject to approval by Parliament.

2.   £2,000, plus an allowance of £2 2s, per diem while travelling on land and £1 ls. when travelling on sea in performance of duties under his agreement.

3.   No further appointments will be made until the necessary funds shall have been voted by Parliament. No specific amount has been set aside for office expenses.

4.   Yes.

5.   The terms of the appointment of Mr. Little state that he cannot engage directly or indirectly in any employment or business other than in connexion with his duties under the agreement, but nothing therein contained shall prevent him from being or becoming a shareholder or a member only of any company or society. It has been further stipulated that in connexion with such shares or membership he must notattend any meetings of such company or society nor vote either personally or by proxy.
