Senator PEARCE (Western Australia) (Minister for Defence) (2:48 AM) - This provision is not based on any existing Act. We have raised a Force under the Defence Act, and this will place it on a proper basis by making it subject to this Act. The rights of the men working under the Force controlled by the Defence Act will be preserved.

Clause agreed to.

Clauses 32 and. 33 agreed to.

Clause 34-

(1)   Any person under the age oftwenty-one years may, with theconsent in writing of his parent or guardian, enlist for service in the Air Force for such period as is prescribed, but that period shall not exceed the time required for him to attain the age of thirty years,

(2)   The enlistment of any person in pursuance of thissection shallbe binding on him both during his infancy and after he attains his majority.
