Senator PEARCE (Western Australia) (Minister for Defence) . - It is necessary to recommit this clause, in order to incorporate in sub-section 3 of section 40b the amendments agreed to in respect of clause 15. Sub-section 3 is a new sub-section added after amendments effected by paragraphs a, b, and c, and does not become subject to the consequential alterations made in these paragraphs, unless the alterations are expressly made in the sub-section. Apparently, it was thought at the time that the amendments made by paragraphs a, b, and c would also extend to sub-section 3. These amendments were in respect of the apprenticeship question. We added the words " or articles of service," but some provisions in the Act were not before the Committee at that stage, and we now need to amend them accordingly. Therefore I move-

That after the word ''apprenticeship" (twice occurring), the words "or articles of service" he inserted.

Amendment agreed to.
