Senator PEARCE (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) (Minister for Defence) - The answer to the first question is that the consideration of the advisability of any change in the duration of training has been deferred until the close of the Imperial Conference in England and the return of the Prime Minister to Australia. The answer to the honorable senator'ssecond question is that no change in the duration of training can be introduced by regulation.It would have to be done by the passing of a Bill amending the Defence Act.
