The PRESIDENT - Before calling on Senator Bakhap to proceed with the debate on the Constitution Alteration (Trade and Commerce) Bill, I desire to read to the Senate a despatch which has been re ceived from the Imperial authorities with reference to a resolution passed by the Senate on Thursday, 13th May. The resolution, which was moved by Senator Pearce, seconded by Senator Keating, and supported by several honorable senators, was -

That the Senate expresses its sympathy with the relatives of those who, by the sinking of the Lusitania, were wantonly murdered on the high seas in the name of war.
