Senator LONG asked the Minister of Defence, upon notice -

1.   ls it a fact that the costly experimental wireless station at King Island lias been demolished; if so, by whose advice was this work undertaken?

2.   What was the object in destroying the only means of communication that the settlers on ' King Island had with the mainland and Tasmania?

3.   Is it proposed to make any other arrangement whereby the isolated people on the island will have some moans of communication restored to them?

4.   Do the Government intend to compensate the proprietors for the destruction of this very valuable high-power wireless station?
