Senator READY (TASMANIA) asked the Minister representing the Minister of Home Affairs, upon notice -

1.   Will the Minister have a thorough inquiry made into the reasons why the names of Bridget Direen, Wattle Grove (No. 436); Bridget Direen, Petchey's Bay (No. 437) ; and Catherine Direen, Wattle Grove (No. 441) were struck off the roll for the subdivision of Lovett, electorate of Franklin, Tasmania, a few days Before the recent Federal elections?

2.   Will the Minister particularly ascertain who made the objections to these electors' names being on the roll, and was the 5s. (as required by the Electoral Act) deposited by the objectors ?

3.   Will the Minister also ascertain if it is not a fact that these electors have resided in the subdivision of Lovett all their lives?
