Senator GARDINER (New South Wales) (Vice-President of the Executive Council) . - I do not yet quite understand the method Senator Keating is adopting in connexion with amendments he proposes dealing with periods of time. I should say that the honorable senator must have been a great athlete, as he sometimes proposes to go full speed ahead, and in other cases suggests a considerable extension of the time provided for in the Bill. T suppose that he is being guided in these amendments by some principle. I recognise the valuable assistance he has given in the consideration of this measure. I have no objection to the present amendment.
