Senator MULLAN (Queensland) . - I wish to direct the attention of the Minister to the fact that in Queensland there are Children's Courts which deal with offences committed by children up to the age of seventeen years. I suggest that some slight alteration in the pro- posed new section 135c should be made to cover cases where provision is made for dealing with offences committed by cadets, above the age of sixteen years.

Senator Pearce - I have no objection to the honorable senator moving to substitute "seventeen" for "sixteen" in the proposed new section on his assurance that in Queensland cases against persons up to the age of seventeen years are heard in Children's Courts.

Senator MULLAN - I am quite satisfied that that is the case, because I have looked it up.
