Senator GARDINER (New South Wales) (Vice-President of the Executive Council) . - I fail to see the wisdom of this proposal, because, under the clause as it stands, not only can an allowance be made to the bankrupt's family, but if he is employed he can be paid for his services. If the amendment is made no direct payment can be made for services rendered by him. There is no harm in saying that he shall be paid' for his services.
