Senator PEARCE - The Prime Minister has supplied the following answers : - 1. (a) The particular words referred to were not brought 'under my notice, but very strong language was used in the press in regard to the matter.

(b)   and (c) Prolonged and costly litigation has taken place. The High Court has held there was no industrial dispute within the meaning of the Act.

2.   It is the intention of the Government to submit proposals for amendment of the Constitution which, if approved by the electors, will give the Commonwealth powers to effectively maintain industrial peace.
