Senator LONG - The Prime Minister is reported to have stated at Tamworth, on Monday evening, in justification of the letting of a contract to Teesdale Smith, without tenders being called, that the previous Administration led by Mr. Fisher had entered into a contractfor the supply of wireless and the erection of wireless stations by a certain firm in New South Wales without calling for tenders. Will the Vice-President of the Executive Council call the Prime Minister's attention to the inaccuracy of his statement, and also inform him that the contract was entered into between the Fisher Government and that particular manufacturing company because it was the only company of the kind in Australia capable of undertaking that class of work ? Will the Minister be good enough to convey this information to the Prime Minister so that he may not fall into the error again ?

Senator Lt Colonel Sir Albert Gould - A nice little speech.
