Senator RAE asked the Minister representing the Minister of Home Affairs, upon notice -

1.   Has the South Australian end of the Port Augusta to Kalgoorlie railway been completed, or the rails laid, to the commencement of the Teesdale Smith contract at the 91½-mile post?

2.   If not, what distance has been reached, and how long is it estimated it will take to reach the point referred to in the previous question?

3.   Considering that the rail head was over 76 miles from Port Augusta in the last week in April, what is the cause of the Blow progress since made?

4.   Are the earthworks on the Teesdale Smith contract completed yet?
