Senator BLAKEY (VICTORIA) - I wish to ask the Vice-President of the Executive Council whether it is a fact that, as reported in an interview with him in the daily press last week, he stated that the number of electors on the rolls in Victoria at the forthcoming elections would be considerably less than the number on the rolls on the 31st May, 1913, and, if the statement be correct, how does the honorable senator reconcile it with the fact that during the last twelve months, by immigration and in other ways, there has been a considerable increase in the population of this State?

Senator McCOLL - Will the honorable senator kindly intimate where he saw the statement to which he refers ? I cannot at present call it to mind.

Senator BLAKEY - I will give the honorable senator the information. I saw it reported in the press last week.
