Senator GARDINER (NEW SOUTH WALES) - I desire to ask the Minister of Defence whether, in view of the fact that a Government supporter has wired to his constituents telling them that an election will take place as the result of the vote of this Senate last week, he will take us into his confidence, and tell us what the political situation really is?

Senator MILLEN - I am not aware that it is a fact that such a wire has been, sent. I assume that Senator Gardiner has some information on the point. If he will supply me with the name of the Government supporter who sent the wire, lie will place me in a position to consult him with a view to ascertaining the information which induced him to despatch that wire.
