Senator MILLEN - The answers are -

1.   Yes, on loan for four years from the British Army.

2.   He will bo employed on general instructional duties in "Victoria until the 30th June, after which it is proposed to appoint him for duty as adjutant of a Light Horse regiment in Victoria. Lieut. Pollok will rank in the Commonwealth Military Forces according to the date of his appointment as lieutenant in the British Regular Army.

3.   There is no regulation. The granting of temporary rank, as in this case, is a reciprocal arrangement between the British and Australian Governments.
