Senator NEWLANDS (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) - Can the Minister representing the Prime Minister give the Senate any information concerning the following telegram in a section of the Adelaide press yesterday in reference to the Kalgoorlie toPort Augusta railway, and dated from Oakden Hills: -

Nearly 200 men paid off by Government, all workers. Much destitution here. Useless workers seeking employment on east-west line.
