Senator MILLEN - In answer to the honorable senator's question, I would remind him that the action of the British Minister for War, to which he refers, necessitated the retirement of that gentleman from the Ministry. I have no intention of following his example, nor desire to share his fate.

Senator RAE - Arising out of the Minister's reply, I ask the honorable senator whether it is not a fact that the Imperial Government, and not the retired Minister for War, Colonel Seely, have issued an order or regulation to the effect indicated in my previous question ?

Senator MILLEN - As I read the cablegram, it is entirely to the contrary.
