Senator McGREGOR - The answers to the honorable senator's questions are -

1.   No special regulation has been framed,, but an intimation has been received in regard to briskets'. The cropping of forelegs is optional with exporters.

2.   Because of the occasional, presence of onchocerciasis.

3.   That sufficient meat is cut away to insure the removal of any onchocerciasis.

4.   It is presumed so under similar circumstances.

Senator ST LEDGER - Arising out of the answer to the question, I wish to ask the Vice-President of the Executive Council whether he will make definite inquiries as to whether similar conditions are really applied to the importation of frozen meat from other countries?

Senator McGregor - Yes.
