Senator ALBERT GOULD (NEW SOUTH WALES) -Colonel Sir ALBERTGOULD (New South Wales) [2.44 a.m.]. - 1 invitethe attention of Ministers to the question of whether it would not be possible to submit a request providing that works of art exceeding £20 in value should be admitted free. I realize that, after the recent division, it would be useless for me to submit such a request, hut if an amendment of the kind were made in the Tariff it would guard against the importation of daubs, to which reference has been made, whilst it would permit of the importation of really valuable works.

Senator McGregor - I cannot accept that.
