Senator McGREGOR (South Australia) (Vice-President of the Executive Council) . - In answer to Senator Millen, I may say that a very low grade of check cloth, from 24 to 26 inches wide, is being imported for floor cloths. We do not wish them to be introduced as collar checks, which are used by saddlers. We have communicated with a number of saddlers on the subject, and this proposal is quite acceptable to them.

Senator Millen - Under what item will the narrower widths of check cloth fall ?

Senator McGREGOR - Under item

123A.

Item agreed to.

Item 134 -

By omitting from sub-item (b) the words " Braids n.e.i." and inserting in lieu thereof the following words : - " Cotton feather stitch braids ; plain braids (other than cotton feather-stitch of one colour and not exceeding two inches in width but not including braids containing gold, silver, or tinsel threads;"
