Senator RAE (NEW SOUTH WALES) . - I do not intend to speak at length on this Bill. From the little attention that I have given to it, I do not think it is in the interests of this country. It has been put forward ostensibly to correct Tariff anomalies, but, in my judgment, the whole Tariff is an anomaly. I have no desire to see a big revenue Tariff, but undoubtedly that is what we have at the present time. . Instead of deriving an enormous revenue from Customs, and a comparatively trifling amount from land, I would like to see the position reversed.


Senator Stewart - There are only two ways of bringing that about, and the honorable senator must take one of them.
