Senator SAYERS (Queensland) . - I am under the impression that the PostmasterGeneral may be able to give the Vice-President of the Executive Council some additional information on this matter. The letter which I have read to the Committee practically admits all that I have said, but urges as an excuse for the inaction of the Department that there are not now as many people living at Herberton as there were previously. But since that letter was written, some 500 or 600 settlers have established themselves upon the surrounding lands, and a railway has been opened to that centre.
