Senator STEWART (Queensland) . - I wish to say that no member of the Opposition suggested to me the amendment which I have submitted, or, indeed, spoke to me of it. The only honorable senator with whom I discussed it was Senator

Givens. In reply to the sneer of Senator Gardiner that I am' attempting to gull the workers, I wish to say that if this amendment will gull the workers-

Senator Stewart - I think, sir, that I ought to be allowed to explain.
