Senator FINDLEY (Victoria) (Honorary Minister) . - I did give the Committee an assurance that the Government would consider whether some provision could not be framed to meet the cases of persons who conscientiously object to vote on Saturday. We have given the matter every consideration, and we believe that we have gone as far as we possibly can to meet those objectors by extending the hour for closing the poll to 8. p.m. Further than that, we are not prepared to go.
