Senator FINDLEY (VICTORIA) (Ministerwithout portfolio) - The answers to the honorable senator's questions are -

1.   No.

2.   Yes.

3.   Alternative proposals were submitted for the supply to the Postmaster-General of (a) Queenscliff and Devonport stations for the sum of£2,150; (b) the removing of one of these stations to King Island and erecting it therefor £2,400; and (c) for the supply of the Queenscliff and Devonport stations, plus a small portable installation on King Island, for. the sum of£3,300. It is further stated in the proposals submitted that the price quoted is less than half the usual price for this type of station.

4.   No, because of insufficient working range.
