Senator McGREGOR (South Australia) (Vice-President of the Executive Council) . - Mr. President-

Senator Sayers - I call attention to the state of the Senate. [Quorum formed.]

Senator McGREGOR - I regret very much that so much time has been wasted in dealing with discursive mattersInordinary circumstances I would be very pleased to reply to the remarks of honorable senators, but, on the present occasion, I ' find that it would notbe advisable to make the attempt. I can assure honorable senators, however, that when the Budget is before the Senate, and there is ample time at our disposal, I shall have very much pleasure in dealing with the matters to which they have referred today, and I am sure that my colleagues here will be only too willing to assist me. I hope that the Bill will now be read a first time and passed with expedition.
