Senator ST LEDGER (QUEENSLAND) - During the course of the discussion on the Naval and Military Decorations Bill yesterday afternoon I used a remark with regard to Senator Walker in, as I think was apparent to every one in the chamber, a jocular fashion, namely, that he had "almost acted the part of a political traitor by supporting the Government." The remark appears in Hansard in cold print. It, of course, ought not to have been made, even in a jocular fashion, and I feel that an explanation is required from me and, to some extent, an apology, which I now offer to the honorable senator.
