Senator PEARCE (Western Australia) (Minister of Defence) . - I move -

That after the words "schedule III." the words " applicable to the ship " be inserted.

It will be remembered that when we were dealing with schedule III. we provided for two different scales of provisions, one applicable to a particular class of ship and the other to another class. We therefore need to amend this clause as nowproposed.

Clause 128 -

(4)   In all other cases, any reasonable expenses duly incurred by the owner in respect of illness, and also any reasonable expenses duly incurred by the owner in respect of the burial of any seaman or apprentice who dies whilst on service may if duly proved be deducted from the wages of the seaman or apprentice.
