Senator FINDLEY (VICTORIA) (Ministerwithout portfolio) - The answers to the honorable senator's questions are - 1 and 2. The conditions of the sugar industry have engaged the careful attention of the Government, but no definite decision has been arrived at as to the proper steps to be taken in furthering its interests.

I may add the possible appointment of Dr. Maxwell, or any other person has not been dis cussed, and the statement attributed to the Honorable W. Kidston, Premier of Queensland, is inaccurate in that respect.
