Senator GUTHRIE (South Australia) . - I wish to ask whether it is the intention of the Government to push the Navigation Bill forward with anything like earnestness? It is a big measure which contains more than 400 clauses, and I do not feel disposed to put amendments in print if it is not intended to push the Bill through this session.


Senator de Largie - The honorable senator should put his question to the Opposition, and not to the Government.


Senator GUTHRIE - The Government are in charge of the business of this Chamber, and I wish to know whether they are prepared to sit on with a view to transacting that business.
