Mr Ian Robinson (COWPER, NEW SOUTH WALES) - My question is directed to the Minister for Primary Industry. I refer to the devaluation of the Australian dollar and the valuable benefits accruing to depressed primary industries throughout the country. I ask the Minister: Has he seen a media report which states:

Devaluation should make Australian meat more competitive and easier to sell on overseas markets but there is no way that Australian exporters can increase prices.

Is this assertion that prices cannot be increased totally inaccurate? What is the true position in relation to meat exports?
