Mr WALLIS (GREY, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) -Has the attention of the Prime Minister been drawn to a report by the Canberra columnist Cassandra over the weekend that the Government has organised a deal with Broken Hill Pty Co. Ltd over the future of the shipyard at Whyalla? Is there any substance in this report? Further, has the Prime Minister contacted the South Australian Premier, Mr Dunstan, in reply to submissions made by the South Australian Government on the future of the Whyalla shipyard? If not, when can the South Australian Premier anticipate receiving a reply to those submissions? Further, is the Prime Minister aware of the public concern expressed by the Whyalla City Council this week at the absence of any reply from him to their correspondence of some time ago on the same subject?
