Mr MILLAR (WIDE BAY, QUEENSLAND) - My question is addressed to the Prime Minister. In view of the unprecedented nature of the decision on Fraser Island sand mining and the responsibility that must logically fall upon the Australian Government to finance this National Estate acquisition, will he give an assurance that the Federal Government, on behalf of the people of Australia for whom Fraser Island is being preserved, will accept full responsibility for the financial loss to and disruption of life style of those people affected by the decision?
