(Dr Klugmanhaving addressed a question to the Minister representing the AttorneyGeneral) -

Mr Viner - Mr Speaker, I rise to a point of order. The subject matter of the question asked by the honourable member for Prospect is in question No. 442 on the notice paper. The honourable member has made certain additions but the substance of the question is the same.

Mr SPEAKER - Will the honourable member for Prospect repeat his question? (Dr Klugman having repeated his question) -

Mr SPEAKER -Order! I think the question is out of order. It is similar to question No. 442 on the notice paper.

Dr Klugman - Mr Speaker, I rise to a point of order. I do not have access to the Standing Orders at the moment, but as I understand it, a person who has placed a question on the notice paper is entitled to ask the same question without notice in the House. So, even if it were similar question, I would be entitled to ask it. In any case I put it to you, Mr Speaker, that the main point in the question which I placed on notice some time ago deals with the identity of the officer of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation and whether he is still employed by that organistaion. I have asked nothing of that nature today. I have asked for an assurance that that kind of behaviour will not be tolerated by this Government.

Mr SPEAKER -Order! I have ruled the question out of order because it bears great similarity to question No. 442 which is on the notice paper.
