Mr HAYDEN (Oxley) (Minister for Social Security) - in reply - I would like to reply to the questions which the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Snedden) has asked. The only information I can convey to him, in my capacity as Acting Treasurer, is the statement I made in my second reading speech, that the comprehensive double taxation agreement with the Federal Republic of Germany, to which he referred, is at present being considered by the Government. I am afraid that I will have to defer answering the other matters. I will certainly bring to the notice of the Treasurer (Mr Crean) the reasonable requests which the Leader of the Opposition has directed to me.

Question resolved in the affirmative.

Bill read a second time.
