Mr Whitlam asked the Minister for Defence, upon notice: (1) What was the (a) value and Cb) general nature of the defence orders placed by Malaysia in Australia and processed by his Department in 1970-71.

(2)   Does he know the (a) value and (b) general nature of any defence orders placed direct on industry in Australia by Malaysia in that year.


Mr Fairbairn - The answer to the honourable member's question, is as follows: (la) The value of defence orders placed by Malaysia in Australia and processed by the Department of Supply in 1970-71 was $0.958m. (lb) Munitions and truck spares.
