Mr GORTON (HIGGINS, VICTORIA) (Prime Minister) - I have seen the instructions referred to and I have also seen examples of the thick staffs on which the flags have been put.


Mr Clyde Cameron (HINDMARSH, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) -I rise to order. Is it in order for a member of this national Parliament who has taken the oath of allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to come into this honourable House with a flag belonging to a foreign power? Are we to be permitted to allow members to come in here waving these foreign flags?


Mr Wentworth - I rise to order. 1 think a distinction should be made between those who exhibit a flag in order to bring condemnation upon it and those who exhibit a flag in order to approve of what it stands for.
