Mr Clyde Cameron (HINDMARSH, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) asked the Minister for the Interior, upon notice:

(1)   What amount of floor space does the Commonwealth occupy in Temple Court Building, Sydney, and which departments occupy the space.

(2)   What is the total annual rental and other charges paid by the Commonwealth for the space.

(3)   Can he say what was the total cost of building Temple Court.

(4)   Who owns the building.

Mr Nixon (GIPPSLAND, VICTORIA) (Minister for the Interior) - The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1)   Total floor space occupied by the Commonwealth in Temple Court is 40,363 square feet, occupied by the Attorney-General's Department and the Minister for Education and Science.

(2)   The total annual rental for the space is $205,356.

(3)   The cost of the building is not known.

(4)   It is understood that the owner of Temple Court is Lend Lease Development Pty Ltd.
