Mr SHERRY (FRANKLIN, TASMANIA) - I address a question to the Minister representing the Acting Minister for Immigration, fs the Minister aware that in the first 3 months of this year 30,000-odd Americans, which represents an increase of over 30%, have made inquiries about the possibility of migrating to Australia? I ask the Minister: Through what Commonwealth agencies in the United States of America were these inquiries made? ls sufficient staff and information available to give a clear and accurate picture of conditions in Australia at present? If sufficient staff and data are not available will the Minister take steps to have them made available as a matter of urgency?
