Mr McIVOR (GELLIBRAND, VICTORIA) - I address my question to the Minister for Labour and National Service. Is he aware that the Luigi gas plant at Morwell in Victoria will cease operations at the end of the year? Is he aware that the closure of this plant is due to the introduction of natural gas and that 320 men will bc deprived of employment as a result? As the Government is a party to the agreement covering the production and sale of petroleum products from the Bass Strait field, will the Minister inform the House what action this Government intends to take to rehabilitate those 320 men? Finally, will the Government compensate those men for the deflated values they will most certainly have to take for their homes on their departure from the Latrobe Valley to find work elsewhere?
