Mr McMAHON - I read in one of the newspapers some speculation that the Reserve Bank would tomorrow consider the problem of altering bank interest rates. I know of no reason for that speculation. I have not been informed that this matter is now before the Reserve Bank. If any reduction of interest rates is decided upon, I assure the honorable gentleman that I will look into the problem raised in the second part of his question.
