Mr NELSON (NORTHERN TERRITORY, NORTHERN TERRITORY) - My question is addressed to the Minister for Territories, in reply to a question that I asked him recently about a report that pastoral leases in the Northern Territory would be extended for a further 50 years, the Minister said that he was not aware of the suggestion but that a committee was now looking into these matters. I ask the Minister to inform the House of the nature of the committee, ls it a departmental committee or an inter-departmental committee? Does it include outside representation? Will the Minister explain the reason for the existence of the committee if it has not been set up for the purpose of extending the term of these leases, which in many instances have more than 40 years to run?
