Mr COLLARD (KALGOORLIE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - In addressing a question to the Minister for National Development, I refer to the finance required for the next phase of the Ord River project and to the Government's earlier declaration that more experience was required before a definite decision on finance could be made. Did officers of the Northern Division of the Department of National Development maintain a regular observation of pest control and cotton growing methods used so successfully at the Ord this year? If so, is the Minister satisfied that the main problems have been overcome and that the information gathered by his Department, together with that supplied by Western Australia, should be sufficient to allow the Government to make an early and definite decision of a favorable nature?
