Mr UREN (REID, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I ask the Prime Minister whether he is aware of a statement made by Sir John Crawford, who was Deputy Chairman of the Vernon Committee of Economic Inquiry, that the Prime Minister was a little hasty in rejecting the Vernon Committee's recommendations. Is the right honorable gentleman also aware that Sir John Crawford submitted that the Committee did not exceed its terms of reference? Can the right honorable gentleman say whether there will be a further study by the Government of the Committee's recommendations, to serve the best interests of Australia?
