Mr Cross (BRISBANE. QLD) s asked the Acting Minister for External Affairs, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact that Current Notes on International Affairs is in short supply and that a waiting list now exists?

2.   If such a list exists how many interested people are unable to obtain this useful and interesting publication

3.   When does he anticipate the demand will be met?


Sir Robert Menzies - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follows -

1.   Yes.

2.   There are at present 400 names on the waiting list including 72 from overseas.

3.   Consideration is at present being given to increasing the number of " Current Notes " printed from the present level of 7,200 to a number sufficient to meet requests, i't is hoped to be able to begin sending Current Notes to persons on the reserve list early in the New Year.
