Mr SWARTZ - This matter is under continuous examination by the Commonwealth Government and the State Governments. The risks are too great to lift the existing quarantine regulations. I for one would not make any recommendation to that effect. A problem of great importance concerns the improvement of breeding stock. That matter does receive very careful consideration. At present arrangements can be make for the importation of semen from the United Kingdom and from New Zealand whereby, under properly controlled conditions, improvements in stock can be effected. However, the mab points that have been raised by the honorable member are well and truly under consideration now and on a continuing basis.
