Mr CREAN (Melbourne Ports) .- I have no objection to the proposal but I think that some information ought to be given to the House before it is asked to agree to this unusual procedure. We have not been told that these Bills contain only machinery rather than fundamental amendments. I would have thought that this would have been explained to the House before asking it to agree to discuss 30 bills together.

Before we agree to this unusual procedure, I would like an assurance that the amendments involved are only consequential.
